In the3^rd All-for-one Tourism Promotion Conference held in Xi’an on August3^rd, Qingdao has been awarded the Experimental Pilot for Chinese Cruise Tourism Development and the National Demonstration City in General Aviation by the National Tourism Administration of the PRC..

In recent two years, the cruise tourism in Qingdao has developed rapidly. Certain data indicates that since it’s opening on May29^th,2015, the Qingdao International Cruise Homeport has cumulatively received171 voyages and about173,000 person times of cruise tourists. It is the cruise homeport which harbored the most cruise ships and received the most passengers in the first year after opening among all cruise ports in mainland China. Qingdao has successively cooperated with7 enterprises including Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Carnival Cruise Lines-CCL and MSC Cruise to operate the homeport ship routes and the number of ship routes has reached15. In the first half of this year, it cumulatively received50 cruise voyages and53,000 person times of tourists, increasing respectively by72.4% and151.8% over the same period of time. The total number of cruise voyages in2017 is expected to exceed100.

As the ice-breaking initiative to develop general aviation tourism, the“China General Aviation Tourism Alliance”， jointly proposed by the Qingdao Municipal Tourism Development Committee and Qingdao Tourism Group and launched by the first batch of national demonstration organizations in general aviation and general aviation enterprises all over China, was formally founded in Qingdao this May and also Qingdao Consensus for China General Aviation Tourism Alliance has been issued, which will act as a booster for Chinese general aviation development. Haier and Double Star obtained the highest award for China brands

The11th China Brand Festival jointly sponsored by the Brand Alliance and China Convention and Exhibition Society was held in Beijing on August8th. In the festival,25 model brands which can represent the image of China brands in2017were announced and“Huapu Award”, the highest award in China Brand Festival was also presented. Two Qingdao enterprises namely Haier and Double Star obtained the“Huapu Award”.

The China Brand Festival is the national gala of brands with the highest standard and scale in China and the purpose of promoting Chinese brands. As a significant award in China Brand Festival,“Huapu Award” is presented annually and represents the highest honor for China proprietary brand building. Qingdao youngster won the champion in the summer Deaflympics

On the23^rd, at the summer Deaflympics held in Turkey, on the evening of July25th Beijing time, Xin Shun, a disabled athlete from Qingdao, won the gold medal in men’s javelin with the performance of66.63m. It is the first individual gold medal Qingdao disabled athletes have ever won in Deaflympics and achieved the zero breakthrough.

This Qingdao young fellow born in1992 liked throwing sticks from his childhood. At about the age of3, he had a fever and unfortunately hearing disorder was caused. This had made his training a lot more difficult. He has endured much more hardship than ordinary people.

Xin Shun said that his father was very fond of javelin and he used to obtain the champion in amateur sport meetings. However restricted by the living conditions at that time, his father had to give up the dream and supported his family by doing small business. After he grew up and learned these stories from his father, he made up his mind to accomplish the champion dream for his father.“Now I make it.” He said:“Next his goal is to exceed70m.” Zhang Xudong （Xin Shun held the national flag for celebration after winning the champion.)

Over27,000 Qingdao teenagers have participated in sailing

The achievement of Qingdao“Sailing Entering Schools” was displayed recently in Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center.

In2006, Qingdao“Sailing Entering Schools” campaign officially launched. During the period, Qingdao has edited the first teenager sailing popularization cartoon in China, incorporated sailing knowledge popularization into the school“Sunshine Sports” campaign and built up the teenager sailing training system integrating classroom teaching, land practice and training in the sea. The General Administration of Sport of China has granted Qingdao the title“Demonstration Chinese City in Promoting and Popularizing Teenager Sailing”.

By2016, the campaign of“Sailing Entering Schools” has helped over27,000 teenagers participate in the sailing training. Currently Qingdao has107 schools featured in sailing.
